Taste Explanation – TDS meter
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater.
After Zero Water filters have been exhausted and
have not been changed, the water produced from the
filter may have a distinct smell or taste and the TDS
reading may be higher than your tap water. This is a result of the
water passing over the “spent” Ion Exchange Resin beads. We have gone
to great lengths in reducing that taste/smell in product development
however this is simply a characteristic of filtering water with a
Dual-Ion Exchange system.
In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water it is
important to test the water regularly and change the filter when the digital
meter reads 006.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. Though we do not have specific percentages, the fundamental premise of ion exchange is to reduce TDS, which is significantly comprised of calcium and sodium, for that reason, we would say removal is near 100%.
