Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. During shipping some
carbon can get knocked loose. What you are seeing in the reservoir is simply
particles of that carbon. As this is part of the filtration process, although
not pretty to look at, it is not harmful. Simply wipe out the reservoir with a
paper towel; the carbon will not end up in the filtered water.
